The Hangar Hotel is not just for pilots . It is for anyone who
wants more than just a bed and shower.
Built new from the ground up, the Hangar Hotel was uniquely designed with an
exterior appearance of a WWII hangar of the romantic 1940's. This exterior is an
understatement of what will be experienced under the beautiful curved metal roof
and bright white siding.
Unlike "chain hotels" that are forced to conform to budget standards,
the Hangar Hotel has gone beyond conventional design criteria by combining fine
woods, granite, custom carpet and tile, and unique furnishings, all with a level
of detail beyond comparison
LOCATION
Inside the city of Fredericksburg, the Hotel is located only two
miles from main street, on South Adams (highway 16 South). The Hotel is
adjacent to the runway ramp area, providing excellent viewing of those
spectacular flying machines.
The Airport Diner, along with the large Airport Conference Center, are
located adjacent to the hotel. The Diner and Conference Center also are in
keeping with the era, and provide the same level of excellent devotion to detail
as the Hotel.
Lady Bird Johnson Park is a golf cart ride away via our private golf path
around the runway. Golf carts, available at the Hotel, enable guests to
get onto the 18 hole course without delay. The park also provides and Olympic
size swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball,
baseball diamonds, nature trails, and picnicking facilities next to the dam or
alongside a beautiful creek.
The Gillespie County Fairgrounds are adjacent to the Hotel facilities. Numerous
events are scheduled throughout the year including horse racing, county fair,
country peddler, gun and knife shows, car shows, tractor shows,
etc.
